2025's CII New Generation Programme Now Accepting Applications
The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has launched the 2025 New Generation Programme, an exciting opportunity for young professionals and those seeking to break into the insurance and financial services sectors.
For the first time, the programme has expanded to include members of the financial services profession. The scheme will offer thousands of young people the chance to experience working in these sectors and grow their talent for the future.
The programme is designed for up to 50 up and coming professionals from across the UK. Each group of 10 will invest their time and expertise into a project or initiative of their own determination. Projects take around twelve months to complete and are supported by CII colleagues.
Applicants must have made significant strides in their professional development and hold a minimum qualification of Dip CII or Cert PFS. They must also have five to ten years' experience within the insurance or finance professions and be CII or PFS members. Applications from groups that are currently underrepresented in the professions are particularly encouraged.
The CII New Generation Programme is not just about professional development, but also about community and networking opportunities. Events like the CII Shaping the Future of Insurance Conference provide opportunities for networking, engagement with senior industry leaders, and collaboration across the insurance community, fostering career development and industry connections.
The programme also focuses on developing skills aligned with future industry needs, including a focus on emerging technology and innovation. The CII emphasizes the impact of AI and other emerging technologies on the insurance profession, aiming to equip participants with knowledge about real-world AI applications, risk assessment advancements, and customer engagement in a digital environment.
In addition to the New Generation Programme, the CII and PFS Apprenticeship Awards are also now open for entries. These awards celebrate apprentices across insurance and financial services, and also recognize the role of employers in supporting rising stars in the professions.
The closing date for applications for both the New Generation Programme and the Apprenticeship Awards is Monday 18 August 2025. For more specific details on the programme’s curriculum or benefits, the latest official CII communications or conference proceedings around July 2025 would be the most authoritative sources.
