A Former Student Pursuing a Worldwide Career in Medicine

Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College alumnus, Andrei Bărbulescu, is making waves in the medical field, thanks to his exceptional academic achievements and heroic actions.

Bărbulescu's journey began at Notre Dame, where he studied between 2017 and 2019, achieving an outstanding AAA in his A-levels. After his time at Notre Dame, Bărbulescu moved on to the University of Milano-Bicocca, where he graduated with an impressive mark of 105 out of 110 from the Faculty of Medicine's English-taught programme.

The University of Milano-Bicocca is no stranger to success, having been ranked 5th nationally in Italy in the medical field. Known for its academic excellence, innovative research, and strong international presence in medical studies, the university has been commended for its cutting-edge research and strong international outlook in medicine.

One of Bărbulescu's notable contributions to the university's research efforts is his work on medications used in acute heart failure. His research on ventricular-arterial coupling has helped to better understand the complexities of heart failure and may guide future therapeutic strategies for critically ill patients.

Bărbulescu's achievements extend beyond the confines of the classroom. During his time at medical school, he demonstrated his quick thinking and bravery by helping a cyclist who had collapsed. He administered CPR and emergency care, earning recognition from the Romanian Ambassador to Italy for his heroism.
