Today, ahead of Thanksgiving Day, the 'Almaty SOS' public fund, in collaboration with the Social Security Department, is honouring World War II veterans. The event is a heartfelt tribute to their bravery and sacrifice.

110 Almaty war veterans will receive food baskets and small gifts as a token of gratitude for their victory, freedom, and life. This act of kindness is a reminder of the community's appreciation for their service.

In other news, the 'School of Independent Life' project for people with disabilities has been relaunched in Almaty. The project, initiated by the 'Shyrak' association and supported by the city's Social Security Department, aims to integrate young men and women with disabilities into society. Participants will spend a week at a camp, where motivational training and workshops will be held to teach independent living skills.

Last year, 64 people attended the school, and organisers are planning to double that number this year. One graduate, Radmila Trotsenko, shared that her life changed dramatically after attending the school. Her story is a testament to the project's positive impact.

The 'Almaty SOS' public fund and the Social Security Department have shown their commitment to honouring the past by celebrating World War II veterans. Meanwhile, the 'School of Independent Life' project is looking towards the future, empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently and integrate into society. Aktion Mensch, a German charity organisation, has pledged to financially support the project in the future.
