The course, led by Hermann Krammer (call sign DL9KR), is open to anyone interested in communication and technology, regardless of prior knowledge. Particular support will be given to girls and women interested in the amateur radio course, with a female instructor on hand to guide them.

The course aims to allow participants to make radio contacts without the internet, including to Australia. Additionally, participants may potentially receive photos from the International Space Station as part of the course.
