Atom Bank Opens New HQ in Newcastle, Creating 30 Jobs

FinTech pioneer Atom bank has opened its new headquarters in Newcastle's Pattern Shop, a Grade II listed building, marking a significant investment and expansion for the digital lender. The move comes as the bank continues to grow, with nearly 30 new positions across multiple departments now available at the US bank.

Atom bank, founded in 2014 and launched to the public in 2016, has made a multi-million-pound investment in the Pattern Shop, which will serve as its new innovation hub. The new headquarters supports the bank's pioneering four-day working week, a bold statement about its future according to CEO Mark Mullen.

The bank is currently hiring for a variety of roles, including 14 customer support positions, across engineering, data, and operations. This expansion is a commitment to the North East, where Atom plans to continue working closely with educational and community partners to expand opportunities in the region. Despite the recent departure of the founder of Hargreaves Lansdown, no new board member of Atom bank related to this news has been publicly announced.

Atom bank's new headquarters in the Pattern Shop signals a new chapter for the UK's highest-rated digital lender, with over £4 billion in customer deposits. The bank's commitment to the North East, innovative work practices, and continued expansion demonstrate its confidence in the region's future.
