Over 148,000 student-test takers across North Rhine-Westphalia region aim to wrap up their 10th grade by successfully passing written assessments no later than June 5th.

In North Rhine-Westphalia, the central exams for the end of Grade 10 (ZP10) have commenced. Over 148,000 students from around 2,000 schools are participating in the written exams, scheduled to take place between May 27 and June 5. The written exams cover German, Mathematics, and English, with the oral exams slated for between July 1 and 8, according to the Düsseldorf Ministry of Education.

These exams include students from Haupt-, Real-,Gesamt-, Sekundar-, Primusschulen, as well as those from Gymnasien in Grade 10, and students in Grade 11 at Waldorf schools, the Abendrealschule program at Weiterbildungskollegs, and Förderschulen with equivalent teaching. Successful completion of these exams leads to the first extended school leaving certificate or the intermediate school leaving certificate.

The Central Exams 10 are a part of the final assessment process, a standardized written examination that students participate in if they have progressed to Grade 10. Simultaneously, many students are also writing their final exams at Berufskollegs, and trainees in vocational training at a Berufskolleg are also facing this exam period.

Minister of Education Dorothee Feller (CDU) extended her best wishes to all participants, hoping for their success, mental clarity during the exams, and good luck.
