Dr. Meryl Epstein, a renowned artist, designer, and educator, has recently joined the faculty at Sessions College. With a rich background in art, design, and education, Dr. Epstein is set to bring her expertise and passion to the institution.

Dr. Epstein's academic journey began at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where she earned a BFA in Graphic Design. Her path then evolved, leading her to Arizona State University, Tempe, where she obtained an MFA in Fine Arts (Photography). Her academic career culminated in an EdD in Educational Leadership.

Throughout her doctoral studies, Dr. Epstein focused on student success and retention, a subject she continues to apply to online education at Sessions.

Before embarking on her academic career, Dr. Epstein worked as a Graphic Designer for the Arizona Historical Society. Her passion for teaching was ignited during her time as a teaching assistant in graduate school, and it was painting professor C. W. Riggs who inspired her to continue creating even when it seemed difficult.

Dr. Epstein's artwork is inspired by water, its movement, reflection, obscuration, and transformation. This theme is reflected in her website, b-presentnow.com, where her creations are showcased.

Carl Regehr, an award-winning designer, also played a significant role in Dr. Epstein's life. He emphasized the importance of living a creative life and producing quality work.

In her first week at Sessions, Dr. Epstein has already expressed her gratitude for the welcoming environment and the depth of faculty experience. She is looking forward to learning from and collaborating with her colleagues.

Dr. Epstein's art and design philosophy involves putting together different pieces to create a whole. This approach, combined with her dedication to student success and her passion for teaching, promises an enriching experience for both students and faculty at Sessions College.

In addition to her work at Sessions, Dr. Epstein has helped to open the Arizona Science Center and Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. She also served as the Dean of Academic Affairs at the Art Institute of Phoenix.
