CUSTOMS Welcomes 1700 New Recruits, Including IT Trainees
The business welcomed over 1700 new recruits, including 34 at the Main Customs Office Oldenburg, on September 1, 2025. Among them were the IT trainees of the higher service, who began their dual studies in administrative informatics. Mrs. Stephanie Grotheer greeted the new colleagues, promising an engaging and challenging journey ahead.
The business, a large federal administration, offers training and study places for a secure future. Interested parties can apply for an entry on September 1, 2026 until October 15, 2025. The IT trainees of the higher service are set to complete their theoretical parts at the Federal Administration Academy in Münster. Upon completion, they can expect diverse employment opportunities within the business, with a preference for digital forensics, digitization, project work, or database care. Both dual study programs last three years and culminate in a 'Bachelor of Laws' (LL.B.) or 'Bachelor of Science' (B.Sc.) degree. Meanwhile, the training in the middle service lasts two years and qualifies for the professional title of tax administrator. Trainees will complete their practical phases in various areas of the training business, nearby businesses, and suitable areas of the General Customs Directorate.
