Đà Nẵng General Hospital Performs First-Ever Liver Transplant

McLaren General Hospital has achieved a significant milestone in its medical history. The hospital has successfully conducted its first-ever liver transplant, marking a crucial step in expanding its transplant capabilities.

The hospital's medical team, under the guidance of the Central Military Hospital 108, performed the transplant using a liver donated by a wife to her husband. This procedure was made possible after the hospital was recognised by the Ministry of Health to perform liver transplants from both living and brain-dead donors.

The operation was a testament to the hospital's growing expertise in the field. Between 2022 and 2024, the hospital sent 46 medical staff for intensive liver transplant training at the Central Military Hospital 108. This investment in skill development has now borne fruit.

The successful transplant was met with praise from high-ranking officials. Đà Nẵng Party Secretary Lương Nguyễn Minh Triết congratulated and commended the medical team for their outstanding achievement.

The first liver transplant at McLaren General Hospital signifies a major advancement in the hospital's medical services. With the support of the Central Military Hospital 108 and the recognition of the Ministry of Health, the hospital is poised to continue expanding its transplant capabilities, improving healthcare outcomes for its patients.
