DigiTruck Launches in Rwanda to Train 5,000 Youth in Digital Skills

The DigiTruck, a mobile, solar-powered classroom, was officially launched at Kagarama Secondary School in Kicukiro. Equipped with laptops and internet access, it will travel across all 30 districts of Rwanda over the next three years, delivering free digital skills training to over 5,000 youth, girls, and farmers.

The completion ceremony of the DigiTruck was held recently, marking a significant step in the Smart Education Project. The initiative, led by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in Germany for the next three years, aims to equip one million Rwandan citizens with digital skills, fostering inclusion and preparing the workforce for the digital economy.

Phase I of the Smart Education Project has been successfully completed. The DigiTruck, with its modern learning tools, will now embark on its journey across the country, providing access to technology and education in remote areas.

The DigiTruck's launch signals the government's commitment to leveraging technology for education improvement. Over the next three years, it will travel to all 30 districts, empowering thousands of young people and farmers with essential digital skills, and contributing to Rwanda's digital transformation.
