Expanding Agripark: Sheridan College Set to Acquire Additional Land
Sheridan College Expands with 47-Acre Land Purchase
Sheridan College is set to expand its Agripark location with a 47-acre land purchase, as announced at the College Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, September 16. The deal, worth $2.1 million, is expected to close within 60 days.
Dr. Walter Tribley, the College President, mentioned other reasons for the land purchase, but no specific details were provided. The new land is adjacent to the current Agripark location, and the purchase will extend the property by 36 acres to the west and 11 acres to the east.
The new land will not only provide the College with physical assets but also serve as a potential teaching space. It's not dedicated solely to the rodeo team, although the team has experienced recent growth. In fact, the College recently installed 40 new horse stalls for the team.
The new land will offer more space for rodeo livestock to roam and graze, which is a significant advantage for the College's rodeo events. Sheridan College is scheduled to host the Pat Hamilton Memorial Rodeo at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds next week, from September 26th to the 28th. However, the cost of the upcoming rodeo event was not specified.
Moreover, the new land could potentially be used for future land sales or swaps. Dr. Tribley expressed optimism about the College's future prospects with this expansion. The College community looks forward to the benefits this new land will bring to the institution and its students.
