Run Da Riddim: Bristol-Based Drum and Bass Label Expands and Gears Up for New Releases

Run Da Riddim, the drum and bass label founded by Calum Leighton (Leighton), Olly Ley (Chunk), and Callum Whiting (SEF) in 2021, has been making waves in the music industry. Based in and around Bristol, Bath, and Chippenham, the label has a multi-genre focus, with a strong emphasis on jungle/D&B, 140, and UKG.

The label recently completed a successful mini tour across three cities – Birmingham, Bristol, and London – with Omari Banks. This tour marked a significant step for Run Da Riddim, showcasing their growing presence in the music scene.

Run Da Riddim boasts a talented roster of 12 residents, including Leighton, Darcey (Dar C), Olly, Callum, Jacob (JIB), Tommy (TJB), Tom (H3), Beau (Rolla B), Oscar (OP Breaks), Gaby (GMD), Jay (TOFA), and Poppy (POP:P). Half of these residents have had official releases, with some appearing on Run Da Riddim and other labels like Jungle Cakes.

One of the label's rising stars, JIB, recently released his debut track 'Turn It' on Run Da Riddim. Another resident, Rolla B, has had a collaboration with Deekline on Jungle Cakes.

Run Da Riddim is planning to establish a practice and recording studio in Bristol and build their own rig in the future. They are also set to launch a project called 'Bars & Bass' to showcase talented MC's across the scene, set to launch next year.

The label's motto is "Let's make jungle massive again." This sentiment is reflected in their recent activities, as they continue to push the boundaries of drum and bass music.

In addition to their current projects, Run Da Riddim is gearing up for the release of an upcoming EP called 'Dance To The Rhythm'. Scheduled for release at the end of November, the EP features 4 tracks by Leighton and collaborations with Jappa, Jman, Toby Ross, and Oram. Scuffed, who Leighton met on the scene, also featured in the album.

Another exciting development is the completion of a track by Badger, which Leighton has been playing out all summer, including at Glastonbury and Ibiza. Although no release date has been announced yet, this will be the first garage track to be released on Run Da Riddim.
