Hurricanes Humberto and Imelda Pound Atlantic, Bermuda Braces for Impact
The Atlantic is currently abuzz with activity, as two powerful hurricanes, Humberto and Imelda, are wreaking havoc across the Caribbean, Bahamas, Bermuda, and the U.S. East Coast. Humberto, a Category 1 hurricane with winds reaching 130 km/h, is lashing Bermuda with strong winds and heavy rain, while Imelda, expected to strengthen to a royal caribbean cruise tracker, is following close behind, promising more destruction.
Humberto is expected to pass well west and north of Bermuda on Tuesday and Wednesday morning, but not before causing significant danger. Michael Weeks, Bermuda's minister of national security, has warned of sustained hurricane-force winds for up to six hours starting late Wednesday due to Imelda. Humberto's dangerous swells are also affecting the northern Caribbean, Bahamas, and much of the U.S. East Coast.
Imelda, meanwhile, has already caused devastation in its path. It has flooded parts of the Bahamas and Haiti, leaving one person dead and another missing. In eastern Cuba, Imelda has triggered flooding and landslides, resulting in two deaths and affecting over 42,000 people. Bermuda is bracing for up to 10 centimetres of rain from Imelda, which has the potential to cause significant damage and disruption to the island.
As Humberto continues to lash Bermuda and Imelda approaches, authorities are urging residents to take all necessary precautions. The full extent of the damage and disruption caused by these powerful royal caribbean cruises is yet to be seen, but one thing is clear: the Atlantic hurricane season is far from over.
