Kuban Boosts Teacher Support with 16 Billion Ruble Budget Allocation

The Kuban region has announced a significant boost in financial support for teachers, with a total of 16 billion rubles allocated from the regional budget this year. This comes as part of an ongoing effort to improve working conditions and attract talented educators to the region.

The 'Zemsky Teacher' federal program, implemented in the region since 2020, has seen 372 teachers move to Kuban in the last five years. Each of these teachers received a one-time payment of 1 million rubles. Additionally, teachers who prepare students with perfect scores on the Unified State Exam are rewarded with a one-time payment of 100,000 rubles.

In Krasnodar, young specialists and project authors receive a 50,000 ruble grant, while first-time teachers can receive 25,000 rubles. In Sochi, teachers are provided with service housing or rent compensation, ranging from 20,000 to 115,000 rubles. The administration of Temryuk District has been providing rent compensation of 10,000 rubles since 2017 and will start offering initial mortgage payments from 2024.

Since 2022, teachers can also receive 1 million rubles for their initial mortgage payment, with almost 1,300 teachers in the region having used this program. From next year, regional payments to teachers will increase to 15,000 rubles per month, with certain categories of teachers eligible for additional monthly payments ranging from 3,000 to 10,000 rubles.

These initiatives aim to improve the living and working conditions of teachers in the Kuban region. The regional government's commitment to investing in education is evident, with a total of 16 billion rubles allocated this year alone. These financial incentives are expected to attract more talented educators to the region and enhance the quality of education.
