Nigerian Defence Academy Announces AFSB 2025 Successful Candidates
The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has officially released the list of successful and reserve candidates for the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB) 2025. The list can be found on the NDA's official website (https://nda.edu.ng/) and in reputable newspapers such as the Daily Trust and The Sun Newspapers, dated 19 August 2025, according to a statement issued by the academy's Public Relations Officer, Major Mohammed Maidawa.
The announcement comes after a rigorous selection process, during which the academy appreciated the patience and understanding exhibited by all candidates. The NDA also congratulated all successful candidates on their achievement.
It is worth noting that the academy had previously debunked any fake lists circulating and emphasized that only the list published on their official website and reputable newspapers is authentic.
In a related development, security forces in Imo state dislodged terrorist hideouts belonging to the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN), in Njaba Local Government Area. The operation, led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Department of Operations (DOPS), ACP Odeyeyiwa Olademeji, resulted in the recovery of various weapons and ammunition.
One AK-47 rifle, three AK-47 magazines, 40 rounds of live AK-47 ammunition, 60 rounds of live General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) ammunition, two pump action guns, 582 live cartridges, two Biafra flags, and one Point of Sale (POS) machine were recovered during the operation. Armed terrorists guarding the camps engaged security operatives in a gun duel before fleeing with multiple gunshot injuries.
