Marburg's 'Grandmas Against the Right' Wins Equality Prize for Promoting Inclusion

Marburg's University City has launched a newsletter to keep residents updated on key news and local happenings. Meanwhile, 'Omas against the Right Marburg', a group dedicated to democracy, equality, and respect for all, has seen its efforts recognised with a significant award.

The 'Omas against the Right' network, along with the OUR!Stage collective, received the Marburg Equality Prize 2025. This biennial award, endowed with 2,500 euros, honours exceptional work towards gender equality in Marburg.

OUR!Stage, a collective creating spaces for FLINTA* individuals to express diversity and make art accessible, has been instrumental in strengthening this community. The 'Grandmas Against the Right' network, which advocates against hate, incitement, and antifeminism, has also played a crucial role. Despite facing antifeminist harassment and gender-based hate comments, the network remains committed to leaving a more colourful and better world for future generations.

The Marburg Equality Prize 2025 has been awarded to the 'Omas against the Right' network and the OUR!Stage collective for their outstanding efforts in promoting gender equality and creating inclusive spaces. Their dedication, despite facing challenges, is a testament to their commitment to a more equal and respectful Marburg.
