Ministry Boosts Kindergarten Language Education with €82,000 Grants
The Ministry of Culture is boosting language education in kindergartens. It's promoting the 'Speech-Kitas: Because Language is the Key to the World' program, which includes the Language Service. This service supports kindergartens in promoting child language development, with grants up to €82,000 per year for up to three years.
The Language Service aims to enhance language skills in young children. It's open to public, free, and private kindergarten providers, youth welfare providers, and peak associations with existing or planned Language Service structures. Funded staff must meet high professional standards, be socially insured, and paid according to the tariff.
Applicants for language service positions need excellent oral and written communication skills, strong cognitive and organizational abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure. They should also be flexible, solution-oriented, and have entrepreneurial knowledge, ideal for translators or interpreters.
The Language Service will provide expert advice and process accompaniment to strengthen pedagogical specialists' competency in child language development.
Applications for the Language Service can be submitted by public and private kindergartens from 6 October 2025 to 15 November 2025. This initiative aims to improve language skills in kindergartens, fostering better communication and understanding among young children.
