Münster's City Museum Unveils Historic Photo & Offers Colonial History Tours

Münster's City Museum is set to unveil a historic photograph from the first junior competition of the North Rhine-Westphalia regional association in 1961 on October 10. Meanwhile, an exhibition dedicated to Pan Walther and his pilgrimage in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer is coming to an end on October 12. The museum also hosts a public tour and study days focused on colonial history.

The 'Colonialism-Thema-Raum' exhibition, a collaborative effort between the Stadtmuseum Münster and 14 other institutions, invites visitors to explore Germany's colonial past and its ongoing impacts. A public tour is scheduled for October 11 at 4 pm, with a fee of five euros, reduced to three euros for reduced-price tickets. No registration is required for the tour, but advance booking is needed for the nearby workroom.

In addition, the museum offers special study days for secondary school students on October 8 and 9. These study days aim to critically examine German colonial history and its contemporary effects. The exhibition features a photograph from the first junior competition of the North Rhine-Westphalia regional association in 1961, offering a glimpse into the past.
