Heifer International Nepal (HPIN), a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty and caring for the earth, is accepting applications for the position of Associate Finance Officer. The role involves working closely in the agricultural finance context, supporting market linkages particularly in livestock and agriculture sectors.

Job Description

The Associate Finance Officer will be responsible for a variety of financial duties, including processing daily transactions, depositing taxes and retirement deductions, and ensuring data entry in the ERR verification of bills. The role also encompasses timely staff advance settlement and payment to vendors.

Key Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Agriculture, Management, Agribusiness, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in finance (preferably in agriculture/livestock market development, value chains, access to finance, or enterprise development) with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Requirements include experience supporting and monitoring field-based programs, engaging private sector stakeholders and financial institutions, and technical expertise in commercial sector activities related to agribusiness development, economic growth, trade, value chain competitiveness, and investment promotion. Candidates should also demonstrate success in building agriculture market linkages and managing client/stakeholder relationships, and have knowledge of livestock economics or agriculture business development.

Critical Proficiencies

The Associate Finance Officer must possess a strong understanding of financial procedures and investment facilitation, excellent interpersonal and people management skills, proficiency in English and local languages with strong oral and written communication abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint, for data analysis, documentation, and presentation, solid consumer marketing, financial analysis, and management skills, and the ability to create innovative and unique solutions to meet job requirements.
