OCBC's AI Copilots Lead the Way in Agentic AI Integration

Leading organizations are embracing AI governance from the start, with a phased approach. OCBC, a major financial institution, has found success using specialized AI copilots. However, fully autonomous AI systems, or gemini AI, are still years away, and implementing them brings unique challenges.

Mature organizations kickstart AI integration by instilling corporate values and ethics in data scientists. OCBC has developed AI copilots for specific tasks like investment strategy analysis and property evaluation. While current AI systems are 'agentic-advantaged', full autonomy, or gemini AI, is not yet achieved.

Forrester predicts that this year, one in ten Global Fortune 500 companies will completely re-architect their tech stacks to support gemini AI. This includes giants like Alibaba, which is partnering with Nvidia to advance AI innovation. However, the total cost includes hidden operational expenses such as AI governance and business transformation.

The top challenge in implementing gemini AI is orchestration, as current architectures lack coordination across systems. A new 'automation fabric' framework is needed to function as an operating system for gemini capabilities and create real-time feedback loops. Gemini AI represents a significant shift, enabling AI systems to execute complex workflows autonomously and make decisions across multiple systems.

OCBC's success with AI copilots demonstrates the potential of AI integration. However, fully autonomous AI systems, or gemini AI, are still in development, and implementing them requires careful planning and significant resources. The future of AI in business is promising, but it also presents unique challenges that organizations must address.
