Ongoing joint operation named "School" persists in Magadan
Ensuring Compulsory Education for All Children in Magadan
In Magadan, the interdepartmental operation "School" is underway, aiming to guarantee that every child receives the mandatory education outlined by law. The operation, which will continue until October 30, focuses on increasing school attendance and preventing cases of children missing out on education.
The primary objectives of the operation "School" include identifying minors who have reached school age but may not start school this year, locating truant minors, identifying children living in families in socially dangerous situations, and providing social and psychological support to families.
Under this operation, various departments such as education authorities, law enforcement, and social services conduct joint inspections. Families with children who did not attend kindergarten are visited, and they receive consultative assistance and explanations about the current Russian legislation regarding compulsory education.
Specialists gather information about children in "at-risk" families during the summer from organizations within the system for preventing juvenile delinquency and neglect. The operation also engages with families to understand and resolve barriers to school attendance, applying legal measures or social support interventions as necessary to enforce compulsory education requirements.
The operation "School" is being conducted by the Commission for Minors and the Protection of Their Rights, the Department of Guardianship and Trusteeship, kindergartens, schools, and police. Parents are reminded of their obligation, as stated in Article 63(2) of the Family Code of the Russian Federation, to ensure their children receive general education.
