In a celebration of journalistic excellence, the 20th edition of the "Blattmacher" Student Newspaper Competition took place at the Munich Literature House. This prestigious event, jointly organised by the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Culture and the "Süddeutsche Zeitung", serves as the preliminary round for the nationwide student newspaper competition of the federal states.

Among the impressive displays of journalistic prowess, FOS/BOS Ingolstadt stood out, earning third place in the online student newspaper category with their publication "INsider". As a reward for their achievement, the team was presented with a prize of 200 euros.

Katja Auer, head of the Bayernredaktion of the "Süddeutsche Zeitung", commended the Bavarian student newspapers for their thorough research, exciting topics, and clever implementation. She further emphasised that there's no sign of a media crisis among Bavarian student newspapers.

The Bavarian Minister of Culture, Anna Stolz, personally awarded the winning teams. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of student journalism in fostering a vibrant and informed society. Katja Auer also underscored the profession of being a journalist, stating that it not only brings joy, but is indispensable for a stable democracy.

While specific details about the heat wave in schools mentioned in some articles were not provided in this context, it is worth noting that the city administration of Ingolstadt reacted to the situation.

The "Blattmacher" competition, which has been running for two decades, is supported by the Nemetschek Foundation. This event continues to be a significant platform for Bavarian student journalists to showcase their talents and contribute to the rich tapestry of journalism in the region.
