Ostholstein Region's Free 'Theater against Fraud' Event Aims to Protect Seniors
The Ostholstein region is set to host a unique, free event this October 11 and 12, 2025. The #spontaneousTheater will be staged three times, in Bad Malente, Neustadt, and Stockelsdorf, to raise awareness about fraud crimes, particularly targeting the elderly. Organised by the White Ring Ostholstein and the Police Directorate of Lübeck, this 90-minute event aims to educate and protect seniors and their families.
The event, titled 'Theater against Fraud', will use short, realistic scenes to illustrate common fraud tactics. After each scene, the audience will have the opportunity to discuss protective measures with the performers and police officers present. This interactive approach aims to empower seniors and their relatives to recognise and avoid fraudulent schemes.
Police have issued several recommendations to protect against fraud calls. These include not sharing personal information with unknown parties and being cautious about sending money to strangers. Elderly people are often targeted due to their vulnerability and trust, making events like this crucial for their safety and well-being.
The White Ring Ostholstein and the Police Directorate of Lübeck have joined forces to create this innovative format. By combining theater and education, they hope to reach a wider audience and make a lasting impact on fraud prevention in the Ostholstein region. The event is free and open to all, encouraging everyone to learn, stay vigilant, and protect themselves and their loved ones.
