Park University Names Catherine O'Sullivan as New Director of Development and Alumni Relations
Catherine O'Sullivan, a resident of Kansas City, Mo., has been appointed as the Director of Development and Alumni Engagement at Park University, effective from April 21, 2025. This appointment is within the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations at Park University.
O'Sullivan's extensive professional background spans various roles in the field of advancement and alumni relations. Prior to her new role, she was the manager of individual giving for the Kansas City Symphony from 2017-19. Before that, she worked as a talent acquisition adviser for Imperial PFS from November 2021 to March 2022, and served as a healthcare recruiter for PRN Healthcare from May 2022 to July 2023.
O'Sullivan's career in higher education began at the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC), where she served as the director of advancement with the School of Medicine from 2012-16. Before that, she spent four years as the director of alumni and constituent relations at UMKC from 2008-12.
Prior to her roles at UMKC, O'Sullivan worked within the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations at Park University. Her previous experience also includes roles within the same field at other institutions.
O'Sullivan's appointment at Park University comes with a clear mandate. She will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with alumni, donors, and friends of the University. Her role includes identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors to foster a deep sense of connection and commitment to Park University's mission and strategic goals.
In addition to her fundraising responsibilities, O'Sullivan will create meaningful opportunities for engagement and collaboration with alumni and supporters. She will inspire alumni and supporters to contribute their time, talent, and resources to advance Park University's programs, scholarships, and initiatives.
O'Sullivan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English composition and literature from Fairfield (Ct.) University. She previously owned Remix KC, a boutique store in Kansas City, Mo., from 2019-21.
With her extensive experience and passion for higher education, O'Sullivan is poised to make a significant impact in her new role at Park University.
