Park University welcomes Dr. Paul Orscheln in his role as Vice President for Student Enrollment and Services.
Paul Orscheln Appointed as Vice President of Enrollment and Student Services at Park University
Paul Orscheln, Ed.D., has been named the new Vice President of Enrollment and Student Services (VPESS) at Park University, effective from March 3, 2025. Orscheln brings a wealth of experience in student success and enrollment, with the last 13 years at the executive level.
Orscheln's academic background includes degrees in education, leadership, and exercise science from the University of Missouri - Columbia and Central Missouri State University (now University of Central Missouri). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education/exercise science and a Master of Science degree in exercise and sport science from Central Missouri State University. Orscheln also earned a Doctor of Education degree in educational leadership and policy analysis from the University of Missouri - Columbia.
Throughout his career, Orscheln has held various roles in higher education enrollment services and admissions at Northern Arizona University, the University of Central Missouri, and most recently, Westminster College in Fulton, Mo., where he served as vice president of enrollment services and student affairs since October 2019.
In his new role at Park University, Orscheln will work closely with colleagues on overarching University policies and procedures, including institutional financial strategy and the student educational cycle from enrollment through graduation. His responsibilities as VPESS include directing recruitment efforts according to the University's strategic direction and mission.
Orscheln's athletic career at Central Missouri State University focused on track and field and cross country. He was a two-time All-American and a member of the Hall of Fame team. The 1993 Central Missouri State University men's cross country team, of which Orscheln was a member, tied for fifth in the D-2 national championship meet. In the 3000-meter steeplechase event, Orscheln still ranks ninth in school history at Central Missouri State University.
Orscheln was selected for his proven track record in enrollment strategy, student success, and institutional growth. His role involves addressing issues of access, affordability, college readiness, and the K-16 pipeline, and student success. Orscheln has held senior leadership roles at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Colorado State University - Pueblo, and Northern Kentucky University.
