The Social Fund and MFC continue to provide maternity and childbirth allowances to students attending universities, professional educational institutions, and scientific organizations. These allowances are designed to support students during their maternity leave, and are not contingent upon the student's financial situation.

Applying for these allowances can be done in a few ways. Students may submit their application online via "Gosuslugi", at the Social Fund's client services, or at an MFC. The application process typically involves submitting a medical certificate and an enrollment certificate from the educational institution. For an in-person application, a medical certificate confirming the period of incapacity and a certificate from the educational institution stating full-time enrollment and the duration of the maternity leave are required.

As of today, 93% of the Social Fund's services are provided electronically, making the application process more convenient for students. If a student has already received payment under the old rules for maternity and childbirth allowances, no new ones will be issued.

According to Sergei Chirikov, the chairman of the Social Fund, there has been a significant increase in the amount of the maternity and childbirth allowance payment. The payment for approved allowances will be made within 5 working days after the decision.

It is important to note that the eligibility criteria for maternity and childbirth allowances have not changed. Girls studying full-time at universities, professional educational institutions, and scientific organizations are eligible for these allowances, regardless of their budget status.

The Social Fund of Russia aims to make a decision regarding maternity and childbirth allowances within 10 working days. These allowances are a crucial support system for future mothers, and the convenience of the application process is expected to make it even more accessible.
