Proposal by the Commission
The European Youth Campus, an international youth project titled "GiveEUvoice", is coming to Detmold from July 23 to July 28. Young people from seven European countries, including France, Spain, Greece, Poland, North Macedonia, Slovakia, and Cyprus, will gather to discuss political participation, European cooperation, and future prospects.
On July 27, the panel discussion will take place in the large meeting room of Detmold Town Hall, starting at 9:30 AM. Admission to the event is free and no registration is required, making it open to anyone interested in dialogue with the younger generation and the future of Europe.
The focus of the panel discussion is on direct, eye-level dialogue. The youth will present their ideas, wishes, and demands directly to representatives from politics, administration, and civil society. The panel includes Dr. Thorsten Hasche from the city of Duisburg, Dr. Miriam Mikus, mayor of our city portal, Arne Brand, chairman of the Lippische Society for Politics and Contemporary History, and other esteemed panel members, both young and experienced.
The panel discussion will explore ways to make youth participation more effective, both in Detmold and at the European level. It will focus on the ideas and experiences of young people regarding youth participation. The event is not only a platform for young people to voice their opinions but also an opportunity for the representatives to listen and learn from the next generation.
The European Youth Campus includes young locals from Detmold in its discussions, ensuring a diverse and inclusive environment. The public is invited to attend this important dialogue and contribute to shaping the future of Europe.
