Science Poster Exhibition Held Annually by DDI Displaying Research Work by Students and Graduates in the Field of Science
The Dasman Diabetes Institute (DDI) recently concluded its annual Science Poster Day, an event that aims to inspire the next generation of healthcare and research professionals. This year, the event took place on August 7, 2025, as part of DDI's summer internship program.
The Science Poster Day serves as a platform for students and recent graduates in scientific and medical fields to showcase their research projects, particularly those focused on diabetes and related health research. This year, a total of 36 participants presented their work, having gained practical skills and knowledge during their three-month internship.
The event provides an immersive, hands-on experience in an advanced scientific setting, reflecting DDI's ongoing commitment to supporting young researchers. Dr. Faisal Hamed Al-Refaei, acting DDI Director-General, expressed pride in supporting and nurturing emerging scientific talent. He referred to the participants as the future of scientific innovation in Kuwait and beyond.
The Science Poster Day is more than just a showcase of research projects. It also encourages scientific innovation in Kuwait and the wider region by fostering a collaborative research environment. The event promotes knowledge exchange and professional development among participants, researchers, doctors, and staff attending the event.
Dr. Al-Refaei praised the quality of the presentations, noting the high standard of research conducted by the interns. He emphasized that the initiative is not limited to diabetes and related health research, but is a broader scientific and medical initiative.
The annual Science Poster Day is launched by the Dasman Diabetes Institute (DDI) and supported by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS). This year's event marked another successful milestone in DDI's mission to inspire and nurture young researchers, contributing to the advancement of healthcare and diabetes research.
