SCSU Engages Locally to Ensure 100% of Graduates Plan Their Futures
St. Cloud State University (SCSU) is actively engaging with local students and communities to foster a more connected and engaged student body. The university, committed to being a positive force in Central Minnesota, is collaborating with District 742 on the Future 100 project, aiming to ensure 100% of high school seniors plan for their futures after graduation.
SCSU's strategy involves recruiting locally and building strong ties with the community. In the 2024-2025 school year, one-third of new entering students and a quarter of new transfer students came from within 30 miles, including many from St. Cloud Technical and Community College (SCTCC).
The university helps students navigate college applications and hosts events like Discover Red and Black, held over MEA break on October 16-18, allowing prospective students to engage with faculty and explore facilities. SCSU representatives visit local high schools multiple times each semester to foster confidence and encourage participation in higher education.
SCSU's Future 100 project, a collaboration with District 742 and community organizations, encourages students to apply to local universities, meet with military recruiters, or connect with local employers. The project aims to provide every graduating high school student with a clear plan for their futures.
SCSU's commitment to Central Minnesota is evident in its efforts to engage local students and communities. By fostering local recruitment, providing application support, and collaborating on initiatives like Future 100, SCSU is dedicated to being a positive force in the area and ensuring students have a clear path to their futures.
