SPD/UWG coalition celebrates expansion of educational institutions in Bersenbrück and Bad Laer
In a significant development for the education sector in Bersenbrück and Bad Laer, two new special needs schools have begun operation this school year. The news brings an end to the uncertainties that surrounded the establishment and operation of daycare centers in these towns earlier this year.
The school in Bersenbrück will operate with all existing classes before August 2025 under the daycare center, while all new classes will be part of the new special needs school. This clear division between the two systems ensures a smooth transition for the children and parents. In contrast, the school in Bad Laer will start with a "new" 1st grade and an existing Tabi class, grade 5, indicating that there is no continuation of the daycare center system for the Tabi class in the next school year.
Jutta Olbricht, chairperson of the SPD/UWG group, expressed her satisfaction with the planning security for the facilities, employees, and above all, for the children and parents of both schools in Bersenbrück and Bad Laer. She emphasized that joint action and cooperation lead to success in achieving this milestone.
