Sustainable Startups Secure Millions in Global Funding
Sustainability and tech innovation are driving investment globally. Several startups, including Skykraft, Stilt Studios, and Cosmos Innovation, have secured funds for their sustainable solutions. Meanwhile, Employment Hero, a Sydney-based employment platform, has raised SGD 229 million, and PopChill, a Taiwan-based fashion marketplace, has secured USD 1.9 million for expansion.
Companies are making strides in sustainability and securing funding. Thyssenkrupp Nucera received a $50 million grant from the US Department of Energy to expand its hydrogen market presence and electrolysis cell production. Jobrad, a sustainable leasing company, completed a green asset-backed commercial paper (ABCP) program with a financing framework of up to 500 million euros. Stilt Studios, focusing on modular homes, plans to expand into Australia, Europe, and the United States.
On the tech front, CAS-Safer Technology, a Chinese R&D company, raised an eight-figure RMB sum in an angel financing round. Cosmos Innovation, a Singapore-based solar cell technology startup, secured USD 19.7 million in a Series A funding round. Skykraft is implementing space-based air traffic management technology to enhance energy efficiency and safer flight path planning. Imbue, an AI startup, secured an additional USD 12 million in an extension to its Series B funding round, bringing the total to USD 210 million.
These investments reflect a growing commitment to sustainability and technological innovation. From modular homes to solar cell technology and AI, startups are driving progress in various sectors. As employment management platforms and fashion marketplaces also secure funding, the tech and sustainability landscape continues to diversify and thrive.
