SVFU students granted YTEK scholarship awards
In a significant development, the Yakutsk Technological Enterprise Complex (YATEK) has announced the recipients of its scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year at the North-Eastern Federal University (SVEFU). Among the awardees are Denis Ksenofontov and Sargylana Egorova, both third-year students at SVEFU.
Denis Ksenofontov, a fifth-year student from the geology faculty's department of subsoil use, expressed joy and pride upon learning that his scholarship application was successful. For Denis, the scholarship not only signifies recognition of his academic achievements but also offers financial support to help sustain his family.
Sargylana Egorova, a third-year student at the Institute of Natural Sciences, is studying to be an engineer-ecologist specialising in "Technosphere Safety - Engineering Environmental Protection". Sargylana chose IEN after much thought, having already graduated from college. She believes that the career prospects for an engineer-ecologist are diverse and promise stable growth in the coming years. Sargylana plans to use the scholarship funds to improve her professional knowledge and skills through various courses.
The field of engineer-ecologist is becoming increasingly in demand due to the growing attention to environmental problems and sustainable development. This scholarship, therefore, serves as a stepping stone for students like Sargylana to contribute to addressing these pressing issues.
The cooperation agreement between YATEK and SVEFU, signed in 2022, outlines five key areas of collaboration: scientific research and innovation, educational programs and training, resource and knowledge sharing, industrial and technological development, and sustainable development initiatives.
Under the agreement, YATEK provides assistance in employment for university graduates, targeted training of specialists for YATEK, retraining and advanced training of the company's personnel. A named classroom of PAO "YATEK" opened on the geology faculty at the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year, further strengthening this partnership.
Last year, the scholarship was awarded to undergraduate and specialist students, as well as master's students. The scholarship named by PJSC "YATEK" will continue to support deserving students in the coming years, contributing to the development of a skilled workforce in Yakutia.
The scholarship provides financial support to its recipients, making higher education more accessible for students like Denis and Sargylana. This support not only acknowledges their academic prowess but also equips them with the tools needed to excel in their future careers, whether they choose to work for large oil and gas companies like Denis or pursue a career in environmental protection like Sargylana.
This partnership between YATEK and SVEFU is a testament to the commitment of both institutions to fostering a collaborative environment conducive to research, development, and education. It serves as a beacon of hope for students who aspire to make a difference in the fields of science, technology, and environmental conservation.
Denis Ksenofontov, with his scholarship from YATEK, will use the financial support to sustain his family and continues his studies in the geology faculty. Sargylana Egorova, as an engineer-ecologist student, plans to utilize the scholarship funds for further learning and self-development in the field of environmental protection.
