Toronto's First Climate Week Showcases Clean Tech and Innovation
Toronto is set to host its first Climate Week, a three-day event starting in October 2025. Founded and directed by Becky Park-Romanovsky, this citywide initiative aims to showcase Canada's clean tech and climate innovation sectors. With backing from local government, universities, and businesses, the event seeks to attract policymakers, business leaders, and investors.
Park-Romanovsky, who has been organizing smaller climate events in Toronto, has seen increased interest from climate-related companies, including those from the U.S. This year's expanded event features over 100 activities, collaborating with the City of Toronto, the University of Toronto, and MaRS Discovery District. Her goal is to secure startup deals and public-private pilots during the conference.
She believes integrating climate considerations into economic planning is crucial for Canada's future. Park-Romanovsky hopes the event will acknowledge Canada's climate work and help establish the country as a globally recognized climate hub.
The first Toronto Climate Week, running from October 20 to 22, 2025, is poised to highlight Canada's clean tech and climate innovation sectors. With Park-Romanovsky's leadership and the support of local stakeholders, the event promises to foster collaboration, secure deals, and elevate Canada's status in the global climate space.
