In 2019, he was the Artist in Residence at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) and an Edmund Hillary Fellow. He has extensively filmed in the Amazon for the projects, "Raised Up Sky" and "The Majestic Samaúma."

This collaborative effort between academics, scientists, and local communities culminated in an interactive 3D tool that provides insight into the tree's life processes, from its canopy branches to its internal nutrient flow and relationship with soil microbes.
