Updated play area for Reinhardtsgrimma students revealed
Reinhardtsgrimma, Germany - The special school in Reinhardtsgrimma has recently unveiled its newly renovated outdoor facilities, a project that marks the fulfilment of a long-cherished wish. The school's outdoor area now boasts a variety of amenities, including climbing equipment, a swing, sandbox, large play area, youth benches, seating group, ping pong table, and a school garden, all designed with accessibility in mind.
The redesign, spanning four construction phases from September 2017 to September 2023, has cost more than half a million euros, with the district and the Free State contributing significantly to the investment. The school's support association also took part in the financing of the new facilities.
The outdoor facilities have been meticulously designed based on the ideas and wishes of the students at the special school in Reinhardtsgrimma. This approach ensures that the facilities cater to the unique needs of each student, providing a necessary balance for the challenges of school life.
Landrat Michael Geisler expressed his joy over the successful project, stating that every expenditure made on the outdoor facilities is considered worth it. The new facilities were officially inaugurated on Tuesday.
The modern and functional design of the outdoor facilities is intended to provide a safe and stimulating environment for the students, with accessible playground equipment, sensory gardens, and safe paths to support physical and sensory disabilities.
For those interested in more specific details about the cost and construction phases of the project, it is recommended to consult local education authority records, school newsletters, municipal planning documents, or to directly inquire with the school administration.
