Ural Students Pitch Innovative Urban Plans for Yekaterinburg's Novokoltsovsky District
In Yekaterinburg, students from Ural Federal University's Institute of Construction and Architecture showcased their urban planning visions for the Novokoltsovsky district. The hackathon, observed by mentors from key local entities, saw five teams propose innovative ideas for residential development, greening, cultural centers, smart city tech, and transport optimization. The district, already home to strategic sites like 'Ekaterinburg-EXPO' and Ural Federal University's campus, is poised for growth. 'Sinarа-Dеveloppement' is at the forefront, planning 1.2 million square meters of housing, with three complexes already completed and three more slated for 2025-2026. The hackathon's jury included Danil Znachkov, first deputy general director of 'Sinarа-Dеveloppement', and Nikita Fomin, director of the Institute of Construction and Architecture. After presenting their projects, all participants received expert feedback and gifts from the company. The hackathon provided a platform for students to tackle real-world urban planning challenges and engage with industry professionals. Their innovative ideas could shape the future of Yekaterinburg's Novokoltsovsky district.
