WICM GmbH secures joint backing for new student scholarship in collaboration with IHK Wiesbaden
In the heart of Wiesbaden, the WiesPaten project continues to make a significant impact on the lives of young people, fostering education, equal opportunities, and future prospects for pupils[1]. This student sponsorship initiative connects young people with committed students and sponsoring companies, providing them with concrete support as they navigate their individual educational paths.
One of the key partners in this project is WICM GmbH, a company that has established a solid partnership with the Wilhelm-Leuschner School in Kostheim, committing to targeted sponsorship for the coming years. According to Simon Rottloff, authorized signatory of WICM, this partnership offers a "win-win situation" where the company gains insight into what motivates young people today while supporting their education[1]. WICM's collaboration exemplifies corporate responsibility towards society and the promotion of young talent, aligning with the broader commitment of the Wiesbaden Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) to create equal opportunities for youth.
The approach of the WiesPaten project emphasizes personal encounters between young people and their mentors. This active engagement is evident in the various activities the students participated in during the last school year. They visited the RheinMain CongressCenter, participated in "Wiesbaden on Ice" at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden, received support for their final presentations, and celebrated the WiesPaten summer festival[1]. Regular meetings are held throughout the year between students, student teachers, and employees of the two sponsoring institutions for knowledge transfer, academic support, and social activities.
The Mayor and Economic Development Officer, Christiane Hinninger, expressed that education is essential for participation and future prospects. The IHK Wiesbaden, recognising its responsibility towards society and the promotion of young talent, has been supporting WiesPaten for several years, and has now taken on a sponsorship for the first time[1]. Sabine Meder, CEO of the IHK Wiesbaden, emphasized that supporting young people is part of their DNA and that the commitment to WiesPaten is an important building block for creating more equal opportunities.
