Yakutia Trade Unions Support 3,000 Children Ahead of School Year
The Yakutia Federation of Trade Unions recently concluded its annual 'Trade Unions - for Children' action, a significant initiative aimed at supporting families with children ahead of the new school year. Coordinated by territorial organizations and councils, the action saw participation from various trade union bodies across diverse industries.
In 2025, the action involved numerous organizations, including the Yakutsk Regional Branch of the All-Russian Trade Union of Education and the Yakutsk City Organization of the Trade Union of Workers of Culture and Art. Together, they contributed over 4 million rubles. Assistance came in various forms, such as school backpacks, stationery sets, certificates, material support, festive events, camp vouchers, and cultural/sports events.
Nikolai Degtyarev, Chairman of the Yakutia Federation of Trade Unions, emphasized the importance of the action in supporting workers' families and alleviating the financial burden on parents. The Education Workers' Union provided over 1.8 million rubles in support, while the Culture Workers' Union assisted 733 children with 1.18 million rubles. The action reached over 3,000 children across the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), with total assistance exceeding 4 million rubles. Priority was given to large families, low-income families, families of SVO participants, single parents, and families with disabled children.
The 'Trade Unions - for Children' action, coordinated by the Yakutia Federation of Trade Unions, successfully provided substantial support to thousands of children and their families across the region. This initiative demonstrates the trade unions' commitment to easing the financial burden on workers' families and ensuring a positive start to the new school year.
