Yakutia's Professional Education Marks 85th Anniversary with Modernization and Growth

Today, October 2nd, marks Professional Education Day in Russia. The country's system of professional education celebrates its 85th anniversary this year. In Yakutia, the department of education has seen significant growth and modernisation, with educational clusters established to meet economic demands and technological trends.

The 'Pedagogy' cluster opened on September 1st at the Yakutsk Pedagogical College named after S.F. Gogolev. This cluster, along with those in agriculture and mining, aligns with the region's economic needs and technological advancements. These clusters operate within 10 professional education institutions, each equipped with 20 modern workshops.

The professional education system in Yakutia has seen a surge in interest, with over 44,500 applications from nearly 29,000 applicants this year. Over 24,000 students are currently educated in the region's 42 colleges and technical schools. This growth is supported by annual grants of 40 million rubles received by educational organisations since 2023.

The quality of education in Yakutia is reflected in the achievements of its graduates. This year, 24 graduates who scored 100 points in their demonstration exams received 100,000-ruble payments. Their mentors were also rewarded for their role in this remarkable feat.

Anatoly Semenov, Deputy Chairman of the Yakutia government, congratulated students, educators, and veterans on this significant milestone. The professional education system in Yakutia continues to grow and evolve, offering over 200 in-demand specialties to its students. With its focus on modernisation and alignment with economic demands, the future of professional education in Yakutia looks promising.
