Yamaha Selects Former Percussion Student for Elite Internship Opportunity
Amanda Albini: A Passionate Percussionist Joins Yamaha Corporation of America
Amanda Albini, a talented and accomplished percussionist, has been selected for Yamaha Corporation of America's prestigious percussion instruments internship program. This six-month program, running through December, offers Amanda the opportunity to apply her percussion expertise and gain valuable industry experience at Yamaha's headquarters in Buena Park, California.
Amanda's musical journey began during her high school years at Novato High School in Novato, California, where she participated in the Marin School of the Arts. Her dedication to percussion continued throughout her college years at UCLA, where she graduated last year with a bachelor's degree in Ethnomusicology and Statistics. During her time at UCLA, Amanda played the drums in various ensembles, including Jazz Orchestra, Latin Jazz Band, Ellingtonia Band, and Jazz Combos. She also played cymbals in the UCLA marching band.
Troy C. Wollwage, marketing manager of Drum & Percussion at Yamaha Corporation of America, expressed his excitement for Amanda to learn from Yamaha's dedicated staff. During her internship, Amanda provides marketing and sales support for Yamaha's world-class percussion products. She assists in product demonstrations, helps with events and clinics, and supports educational outreach initiatives. Amanda's role also involves coordinating with artists and educators, helping to promote Yamaha percussion instruments to schools and music programs.
Amanda's contributions to Yamaha include assisting in the organization and execution of Yamaha percussion artist events, providing detailed feedback on the playability and design of new prototype percussion instruments, and supporting Yamaha’s educational outreach by participating in clinics and workshops. She has also helped create digital content for Yamaha’s percussion marketing team, including video demonstrations and product tutorials.
