Aichach-Friedberg Youth District Council Celebrates Successful Year
The Aichach-Friedberg Youth District Council recently celebrated a successful year, culminating in a cinema evening for voluntarily active students at the end of May. The event, initiated to honour the commitment of young people in the district, attracted a crowd of 60 participants.
The members of the Youth District Council expressed their satisfaction with their involvement and the constructive discussions that led to the realization of concrete projects with their own budget. The council has a fund of 5,000 euros to support such projects independently.
One of the highlights of the year was the charity run, which unfortunately had to be cancelled due to bad weather. However, a clear majority voted to make a donation of 3,000 euros to the food banks in Aichach, Friedberg, and Mering.
The Youth District Council also manages the Youth Fund, which can financially support projects of democratic education within the framework of the federal project "Democracy lives!". Two applications from the Augsburg Media Office were approved for funding from the Youth Fund for the development of a film on "Justice" and a "Live Podcast" or panel discussion. Both projects received broad support from the youth.
As the term of office for all members of the Youth District Council is ending after two years, some are considering continuing as representatives of their schools, while others are considering acting as mentors for the new members. The members of the Youth District Council received a certificate and high praise from District Administrator Klaus Metzger for their commitment and contribution to democracy and cohesion.
For more detailed information about the local youth fund projects and their impacts on the community, it is recommended to consult the official Aichach-Friedberg Youth District Council publications, press releases, or to contact their office directly. These projects usually support youth initiatives such as cultural events, sports activities, social engagement, and educational programs intended to benefit young people and the broader community.
The Youth District Council had a significant impact on education and self-development, evident in the approved funding for two projects developed by the Augsburg Media Office – a film on "Justice" and a live podcast or panel discussion. The lifestyle of young people in the district, in terms of civic engagement and community outreach, was also positively influenced by the council's initiatives, such as the charity run and support for youth-led projects in cultural events, sports, and more.
